I reached out to this company via their website to check if they could unlock my rather old phone. After going through a bunch of reviews from other customers, I noticed a mix of positive and negative feedback. Still, I decided to give them a shot because, let’s be real, you’ll always find some folks who aren’t happy with the service they got.

Filling out the necessary details was pretty straightforward. Just before you hit the payment page, there’s a list to read through to confirm your phone can actually be unlocked. Honestly, I found the entire process to be quite simple. I paid the fee and was told how long it might take. Plus, they mentioned that if they couldn’t unlock my phone, I’d get my money back.

The next day, I got a notification from PayPal saying I had received a refund from Unlocks. That’s why I’m giving them 5 stars; as soon as they figured out they couldn’t unlock my phone, they refunded me without me having to follow up.

I do have one small gripe, though: I really wish I could’ve known why they couldn’t unlock my phone.

I just got a message that really takes the cake;

Hey there.

You’re saying the delay was due to our lack of response, yet you’re pointing fingers at us and claiming you’re not happy? I don’t think so! Order’s canceled and your money’s back, go shop somewhere else!

If that’s what you call customer service, be my guest and stick with them?

I placed the order with my email, but my wife used her PayPal to pay, so they wanted confirmation from her email to avoid fraud (which seems reasonable). My wife shot back a reply right away, but no word from Unlocks. I followed up three days later to check if they got her email, and still nothing. Their site says if you don’t get a code in three working days, you should reach out, which I did, and this is the response I get? Super professional, right?

I was a bit doubtful initially, but they really came through. My ancient orange SIM card got unlocked with an old ZTE phone, and now I can use it as a backup. It only took about 4 hours.

My mobile service in Australia wasn’t even on the list, but he still got it unlocked for just a few bucks in less than two days. It was a lifesaver for me since I couldn’t shell out for a new phone or change to the provider of the phone. This is just not right, I can't believe this company provides the right unlock codes. I've made multiple attempts to input the codes, but they never work. I requested a refund, but they keep telling me to wait and try again in 24 hours, then 48, then 72. Seriously, when does this stop? A year from now? All I want is to get my phone unlocked, and this company just can't seem to manage it.

I purchased an unlock code for a Motorola from this site. They took my cash, about $3, but never sent me the code. Since I didn’t get my code, I reached out to PayPal for a refund. After roughly two weeks, I got my money back from PayPal. On the same day, I got a nasty message from some guy named Derek at unlock, claiming he had contacted the fraud department and my internet provider, saying I was involved in fraud. Can you believe the nerve of this Derek? They’re the scammers, yet I’m the one being accused of fraud! If needed, I can share the emails from them. There are plenty of legit companies out there; I’ve never had issues like this before.

Quick and reliable delivery of the phone code, which functioned perfectly. Not much else to say.

I didn't need to reach out to them, so I can't speak on that front.

Edit: Oh, and I should mention, I used their service a few years back for unlocking a Blackberry 9000, and the code arrived in just a few minutes (if my memory serves me right!!), so no problems there either.

I've done just about everything to get my phone unlocked. I reached out to 'unlock' in hopes they could assist me, but I didn't even get a simple reply. 'Unlocks' is the name of your business, and that's who I reached out to. I can share a private screenshot as proof. It seems like you're quicker to respond to a negative review on 'trustpilot' than to help a customer in need.

UPDATE: I just read what I can only describe as a rant in response to my review and the exaggerated reaction to Trustpilot's support of my feedback. This guy/company really has some issues. I recommend you think twice before handing over your hard-earned money to a business with such questionable values. Check out the 'bullying' review from another unhappy customer; I think it speaks volumes. Be cautious.

Exercise caution when interacting with this company. A few days back, I posted a negative review, and in return, they threatened me with three different actions if I didn’t take it down. They’re now pursuing legal measures, claiming they want to recover costs for the business they think they’ve lost because of my feedback. They’re also planning to report me to my service provider. On top of that, they aim to reach out to my mobile phone manufacturer to get my device blacklisted! So, watch out if you’ve had a bad experience and decide to leave a negative review, ha ha. Consider this a heads-up. As customers, it’s crucial to recognize how this company operates, using intimidation and bullying just because they dislike negative feedback, which we all have the right to share.

I think unlocks is really helpful, particularly during emergencies. I'd suggest unlocks to anyone; it's fast, has simple instructions, and works great. Thanks a lot, unlocks!

Got the unlock code in less than an hour and it worked like a charm on the first try. Other places want you to cough up between £5 and £20. Just goes to show, you can score great service without breaking the bank. 👍
